Lap Band Follow up Treatment

In the months following the Lap Band Procedure, a number of office visits are needed to adjust the band to for patient's specific requirements.

The attending medical person will gently pierce the skin with a needle, into the reservoir or port just beneath the skin, and inject or drain saline.

With the lap band in place and band adjustments under way, the patient is well on their way to achieving their weight loss goals.

It is important to remember that while the Lap Band Procedure is a great tool for weight loss, each patient needs to stick to a good diet and should institute a strong exercise program if they do not already have one in place prior to surgery.
